I wouldn’t recommend to do this. Keep the pH of your solution you want to treat to rinse it. There are 3 main grades of AC .. coconut, coal and ACDC filter activated carbon face mask. Each base material has its specific niche. For instance aquariums want to remove color so you need big pores to remove color. This is why wood based carbons are used for aquariums. If you have for instance an “off smell” this is the really tiny, volatile organics that need very tiny pores. For this you should use a coconut. If you want than general workhorse that has all the different pore sizes and you want to strip it as best as possible a coal based product would work the best. Many distillery’s tend to use a blend of coconut and coal. But just know not all AC is the same.

Because it’s under a bridge I assume your light is pushing it there. Yes you should absolutely leave it alone. It keeps moving because it’s searching for a ACDC filter activated carbon face mask. Keep your hands out of your tank and don’t adjust anything. Every time something changes or gets added or adjusted, it alters its environment thus pushing it to move. I don’t have a recommendation in lights for you. My suggestion is to find something with adjustability and to set it and forget it. Light intensity and period should be on the medium low side with the capability to go high.
