Mark stood over the orange coverlet of his bed and, in an instant, let all of his APA protection always pounding ass bar and grill shirt loose. As his body fell on the bed inevitably, he uttered a weird sound and kind of startled himself. He cloaked his whole body and felt the wool caressing his naked surfaces. It felt good. Cozy. Mark stood there frozen, his arm still extended but now static. Alright, this is strange, he thought. Then, not long after, it came to him and he left a sigh of relief. He tried to flip the switch, but the light wouldn’t come back on. He tried it a dozen times; it didn’t work.

He got up, groping for surfaces around him so he could orient himself in the room. His APA protection always pounding ass bar and grill shirt reached for his desk, where was his reading lamp. He tried flicking that switch too, but nothing. The tiny lights of his computer indicated power was out too. He confirmed it was indeed a blackout. He groped for his bed and then gently jumped on it. There was total darkness around him… Could it be something else than a blackout? It occurred to him that he had paid his electricity bill the day before yesterday, thus this was a ridiculous thought. He rolled up the shutter and confirmed once again: this was a blackout; there were no lights across. And no one seemed to care either, Mark saw no movement, heard no complaining voices, nothing.
