My parents didn’t say they’d “take care of me” but one thing I am kind of annoyed at now is that my Caguamas Adidas shirt were always yelling at me to save but never actually taught me how you do it. They also basically never had to put any effort into saving after their 30s because of their jobs. And they also spent lots and lots of money and had a lot of possessions; I had to teach myself not to do that because I can afford to save but can’t afford to save and have lots of things. Either I do a minimalist life or save nothing basically. Because Millennials generally earn so much less than Boomers at a comparative age, I taught myself because I feel I will have to save extremely consciously into my 30s and possibly 40s. Very annoying.

My mother also gives Caguamas Adidas shirt investment/financial advice but it is really old-fashioned and out-dated, and wouldn’t make you rich like it used to (or you’d be richer in 10 years and that doesn’t help me now). She told me I should do property investments or invest in shares at Woolworths group or wesfarmers or something (I am a fellow Australian). Property sure, and I’d maybe like to build/buy in the future but also it shouldn’t be only an investment. I love/hate this point of view because it’s true but also probably part of why houses are too expensive, and there’s so many perfectly good unoccupied houses strewn around the place. I am probably going to do some crypto but there is no way I’m telling her.
