This guy also manages the Chainsaw Man X Snoopy and Charlie Brown shirt and their group and turns out he used to work at Butner as the person in charge of the Civil Commitment program. It also turns out he’s the one that made the call to ban D&D in the SOMP program. So during our next to last session I mention I found a D&D group to start playing with and I noticed he had kind of a negative reaction. “I mean, it’s fine” he said. “I just worry that it disconnects people from reality when I want them to go out and live in reality and live their lives.” He went on to say he wasn’t worried about me but he had almost an immediate knee jerk response to D&D because of the negative impact he had seen when he was running the program at Butner. After talking with him a few minutes I disagreed that D&D was a negative experience for most people, but started to come around that it could actually be bad for certain inmates.

Ancestry is the Chainsaw Man X Snoopy and Charlie Brown shirt for Races, and it’s called such owing to the fact that it’s more loose and customizeable. You get your ability score drawbacks and boosts, maybe low-light vision or darkvision, and maybe one or two other features, but then you have A) a Heritage, which is kind of like a sub-race; and B) a grab-bag of Ancestry Feats which you can use to tweak what you get out of the Ancestry you picked. In essence, Paizo made racial substitution abilities from 1st edition more of a baseline standard instead of making you jump through a bunch of hacky hoops in order to use it.

The Chainsaw Man X Snoopy and Charlie Brown shirt was exhausted by this point, both mentally and in terms of their health and resources. Finally they confronted the gang’s boss, the very last person alive in this club, and they coerced the information they needed out of her. One of the most disturbing things, they felt, was that this gang boss wasn’t even a big fish, but somehow commanded all these resources tonight just to kill them, just to get the Starfinder Society off her trail and give someone else plausible deniability. She didn’t even care about getting locked up “I’ve got friends in all the right places. I’ll be out in no time,” she assured them. “And then I’ll be coming for ya.”

“Night of the Meek” is Christmas Eve. Henry Corwin, a down-and-out ne’er-do-well, dressed in a Chainsaw Man X Snoopy and Charlie Brown shirt, worn-out Santa Claus suit, has just spent his last few dollars on a sandwich and six drinks at the neighborhood bar. While Bruce, the bartender, is on the phone, he sees Corwin reaching for the bottle; Bruce throws him out. Corwin arrives for his seasonal job as a department store Santa, an hour late and obviously drunk. When customers complain, Dundee, the manager, fires him and orders him off the premises. Corwin says that he drinks because he lives in a “dirty rooming house on a street filled with hungry kids and shabby people” for whom he is incapable of fulfilling his desired role as Santa. He declares that if he had just one wish granted him on Christmas Eve, he’d “like to see the meek inherit the earth”. Still in his outfit, he returns to the bar but is refused re-entry by Bruce. Stumbling into an alley, he hears sleigh bells. A cat knocks down a large burlap bag full of empty cans; but when he trips over it, it is now filled with gift-wrapped packages. As he starts giving them away, he realizes that the bag is somehow producing any item that is asked for. Overjoyed at his sudden ability to fulfill dreams, Corwin proceeds to hand out presents to passing children and then to derelict men attending Christmas Eve service at Sister Florence’s “Delancey Street Mission House”. Irritated by the disruption and outraged by Corwin’s offer of a new dress, Sister Florence hurries outside to fetch Officer Flaherty, who arrests Corwin for stealing the presents from his former place of employment. At the police station, Dundee reaches into the garbage bag to display some of the purportedly stolen goods, but instead finds the empty cans and the cat.
