I’m not a Christian either; I’ve practiced Wicca for over 50 years. I’ve also celebrated Christmas for Famu Rattlers Women’s College Ncaa shirt & my parents were both Irish agnostics who made a huge deal about Christmas & Santa, Elves, reindeer, baking cookies, donating to charities, playing any & all Christmas music, giving blankets & stuffed animals to no-kill animal shelters, buying toys for Toys for Tots, making & buying & wrapping gifts for friends & relatives, inviting anyone they knew or their friends who’d be alone for Christmas to our house for dinner. My daughter was raised the same way & she too is agnostic bordering atheist with a small belief in Wicca thrown in, believing people & animals have spirits, just not believing in gods or supreme beings or deities. Christmas is a religious holiday for some Christians, both religious & secular for other Christians, and strictly secular as well as a Federal Holiday in the USA & part of our culture for non-Christians. You have to know that Santa Claus is not a god & there is no religion based on Santa Claus. When someone wishes you Merry Christmas say thank you &/or Merry Christmas to you too. You could tell them you aren’t Christians but likely they’ll just think you are weird & rude & shake their heads because they are not Christians either but it’s Christmas time.

As the Russian artillery shells kept ringing the Famu Rattlers Women’s College Ncaa shirt, I set out from my kitchen with a sack full of biscuits. [Bartmann worked in a bakery before enlisting in the Leibstandarte: this being on Christmas, he was ordered by his company commander to bake something for the troops as a Christmas present.] The artillery fire soon ceased. The smoke from the explosions mixed with the shining blue of the sky. Sunlight shone on fresh snow and there was a silence; a beautiful, calm silence. As if Weihnachtsmann, the German Santa Claus, I visited all of the shelters to distribute my Christmas treats.
