A few years later, shortly before that baby was getting ready to graduate from high school, I had a new job, we were building a new log home, while living in a rented travel trailer. I had I Like Dogs More Than People Bernese Mountain Puppies shirt so involved with my job because after working for another woman, who was a cheater….now I was the boss, and my time was just crammed with…stuff. I had not been to church for several weeks, just wanted to sleep the weekends away after putting in 60 hours a week. I’d been in the medical field for many years by now. On my way to my first appointment,on the Monday after Mothers Day…. my new car blew a tire, my jeep rolled, and I passed out. When I came to, the first thing I heard was….Jesus saying…..Do I have your attention now? Just as plain as day! Boy did I feel guilty. Yes I spent five days in the hospital, had a couple surgeries. I did a lot of praying while I was in there…spent a year recuperating and was scared to drive…so no church. Hubby finally put me in the drivers seat, and put his hand on my leg and made me drive the 12 miles home. I was fine until I got close to the crash sight, then I bawled all the rest of the way home. Then he arranged for me to take part in a mock up of a multiple car accident. He was the Fire Chief of our area. My job was to take care of a person with the same injuries that I had in my accident. It was tuff, I cried, and so did my patient, but it helped me. I still had not returned to church.

Two weeks later on the way to the I Like Dogs More Than People Bernese Mountain Puppies shirt , a car in front of me swerved and hit the cement guardrail of the overpass we were on…and stopped. I pulled up and over behind the car because I thought maybe there was a medical problem. As I was putting on my emergency brake, a huge dump truck hit me from behind, throwing my little SUV into the other lane and about 200 feet down the road. The police told me that by all rights I should be dead because from where I was stopped, there is no reasonable way that I wouldn’t hit the car in front of me, getting squished between the car and the truck, but I didn’t. It totaled my rig, and I had a concussion and a bad neck injury. I did a lot of apologizing to God, and returned to church. I still have a neck that doesn’t work just right. It reminds me every day to stay close to Jesus.
